Information About the University
Russian University of Tourism Studies (РГУТиС) is a public university which provides training for Russian and International personnel in tourism and services industry. The university has a license from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation for the right of realization of educational activity (№ 9859 from 05.02.2008) and has State Accreditation (№ 1099 from 05.02.2008).
RSUTS was founded in 1952 as a Higher School of Trade Cooperation and for half-a-century became the leader among universities in Russia, training staff in tourism and services.
Since 2003 The Federal Agency of Education has has rated the university as one of the key places among services field universities in the country. It has received many awards: "The Gold Medal of European Quality” in nomination of "The 100 Best Universities in Russia” (2004, 2005); "The Crystal Boat” in nomination of "Leader-Partners in Guarantee of Activity of Hotel Enterprises in Moscow” (2004, 2005) and Gold and Silver medals by the VI International Salon of Innovations and Investments in Moscow.
RSUTS is a contemporary cutting edge university in Russia, whose structure consists of 9 departments, 15 branches and more than 49 regional representative offices.
To date RSUTS caters for over 50 thousand students from the Russian Federation, CIS countries and abroad. The university accomplishes multi-level training of personnel in tourism and services industry. Educational activity covers four levels of education: higher professional, graduate, secondary, also additional education (working specialties). Training is carried out by various forms of instruction: full-time, part-time, external studies and correspondence with elements of distance learning.
Within RSUTS the Educational and Methodical Association brings together more than 250 educational institutions of higher and secondary vocational education and it is the centre of service and tourism educational program development. |
